Inspiration
Health problems often go unnoticed until they become serious. Many people don’t have access to fast medical screening or are unsure whether their symptoms require attention. I wanted to build something that gives instant health insights, reduces fear, and helps people understand what might be going on — all from their phone.
That idea became HealthScan AI.
. How I Built the Project
I designed HealthScan AI as a simple, mobile-first tool where users can:
Upload or capture an image (face scan / body scan / affected area)
Input symptoms
Let the AI analyze everything in real time
Get a clean, easy-to-read result instantly
The app uses:
Computer Vision to detect visible abnormalities
LLM-based symptom analysis
A custom scanning animation system to make the experience smooth and intuitive
Base44 to build the entire workflow, UI, and logic without writing heavy code
Every part—from UI animations to result detection—was tested multiple times to make sure the experience feels fast and reliable.
.What I Learned
How to combine image analysis + text-based medical reasoning using AI
Designing user-friendly scanning overlays and countdown timers
Managing state issues like “results not showing,” “scan not triggering,” and creating stable flows in Base44
Improving accuracy and creating clean medical-style output for users
. Challenges Faced
Building an AI scan system is not easy. Some issues I faced:
Results not displaying due to state resets
Scan animation working once but breaking on repeated runs
Handling inconsistent image input from different devices
Making AI outputs clear, safe, and non-threatening
Each challenge helped me improve the structure and stability of the app.
.Final Outcome
HealthScan AI is now a fast, lightweight, and user-friendly tool that gives quick, AI-powered health insights to anyone. It’s not a medical diagnosis tool — it’s a smart assistant that helps people understand symptoms earlier and encourages better decision-making.
My aim is to make basic health understanding accessible to everyone, anytime.
