Inspiration
The inspiration behind HealthPro stems from the need to address critical health challenges: lack of self-awareness about personal health, limited access to credible medical information, increasing sedentary lifestyles, and insufficient communication with others. By providing a centralized platform that tracks daily habits, offers personalized insights, and fosters community engagement, HealthPro empowers users to take control of their well-being and make informed decisions for a healthier life.
What it does
HealthPro aims to help users monitor their health by assessing their daily routines and identifying potential health issues using artificial intelligence. It offers personalized recommendations to promote a healthier lifestyle, enabling users to take proactive measures against potential illnesses. It also serves as a platform where you can compare your efforts and results with your friends!
How we built it
We built it using a streamlit, which is a python based framework. We also had to include javascript, css, and html5 content for the interface aswell as a running tracker which uses a map. We created a database using MongoDB, which helped us creat an user system.
Challenges we ran into
At first, we found it very annoying to use streamlit and get used to it, since it was the first time any of us had used that framework. Fortunately, we adapted very quickly and we swiftly continued with the rest of our project. Also, we had issues surrounding the connection to the .tech domain, aswell as database connection issues with MongoDB, yet we were able to handle all of them thanks to our perseverance and motivation. Lastly, we found trouble while trying to implement our track runner section, mostly because streamlit didn't accept the commands that we would usually use, but we found a leeway using javascript and accomplished our goal.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are very proud that we have came up with an idea that could actually be benificial to people, we worked very hard on that project and we can finally enjoy the fruits of our labor. We are also very proud to have endured the whole of the hackathon .
What we learned
Since it's our first ever hackathon, we learned A LOT of new things. To sum it up, we learned how to communicate with people even more, especially with sponsors and potential recruiters, but also with our fellow hackers. We learned to use a new framework, aswell as a database hoster, and we enhanced our coding skills even more. We learned to work as a team and enjoy the company during our coding.
What's next for HealthPro
We have really enjoyed working on HealthPro and we hope to develop the app even further so it can become an official app on store.
