Inspiration

Your sleep can change how you feel. Your mood can change how you eat. Movement can affect both. Yet the tools we use to understand ourselves often put those experiences in separate apps.

HealthMaxxing was co-founded by Dr. Fayez Ajib, a board-certified emergency physician, and Dr. Tina Halabian, a licensed clinical psychologist. We built it around a shared conviction: a useful picture of everyday health needs room for both body and mind.

Our distinctive idea is to connect daily tracking with personal discovery. HealthMaxxing brings physical habits and emotional wellbeing into one experience, helps people notice associations in their own history, and gives them a way to try one small change. It is available today on iOS and Android, with free core tracking and support for eight languages.

What it does

HealthMaxxing has three connected spaces:

  • Body supports meal logging by photo, barcode, voice, text, search, and manual entry, alongside hydration, sleep, exercise, recovery, weight, measurements, medications, supplements, and cycle tracking.
  • Mind supports mood check-ins, journaling, gratitude, breathing, grounding, reflection, and 21 guided practices.
  • Balance brings both sides together. A personal Pattern Engine identifies associations in the user's own recent history, labels them as associations rather than causes, and lets the user test one change through a bounded personal experiment. Signals and weekly reviews turn those logs into timely context.

The app also includes Apple Health and Android Health Connect integrations, data export and account deletion controls, dark mode, and eight in-app languages, including true right-to-left support for Arabic and Persian. Core tracking remains free. HealthMaxxing Pro unlocks deeper pattern access, wearable intelligence, and expanded AI-assisted features.

HealthMaxxing supports everyday wellness and reflection. It does not diagnose, establish causation, or provide medical care.

How we built it

HealthMaxxing is a cross-platform React Native and Expo application written in TypeScript and published for iOS and Android. RevenueCat powers the live subscription system: monthly and annual packages, a 14-day trial offering, entitlement checks, purchase and restore flows, and lifecycle-aware offerings such as standard, founder, and win-back pricing. Firebase supports authenticated cloud services and synchronization. Apple Health and Health Connect provide permissioned wearable data. Bounded AI features support food analysis, meal parsing, recipes, and wellness reflections while keeping review, correction, and safety language inside the user flow.

The product was designed as one coherent system rather than a collection of trackers. Shared data contracts connect Body, Mind, and Balance; privacy and health-safety boundaries are enforced in both copy and behavior; and the same design system supports eight languages, dynamic text, dark mode, and right-to-left layouts.

Challenges we ran into

  • Turning noisy self-tracking data into useful context without implying diagnosis or causation.
  • Making a dense whole-self product feel calm and navigable instead of overwhelming.
  • Keeping Apple Health, Health Connect, subscriptions, restores, cloud state, and free-plan access consistent across two stores.
  • Localizing a large interface into eight languages while preserving layout, accessibility, and true RTL behavior.
  • Designing monetization that supports ongoing analysis costs while keeping essential tracking free.
  • Expanding our reach on a limited advertising budget. Budget constraints limit how broadly we can test acquisition channels and introduce the app to people who could benefit.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Shipped a working public app on both the App Store and Google Play during Shipaton.
  • Connected Body, Mind, and Balance through personal patterns and one-change experiments, with explicit association-not-causation safeguards.
  • Delivered a generous free core and a transparent RevenueCat-powered Pro experience with trial eligibility, purchase, restore, and continue-free paths.
  • Shipped eight in-app languages, including Arabic and Persian RTL support.
  • Continued shipping through September: the current iOS version, 1.0.19, adds pattern-powered Daily Side Quests, Quick Scan with background nutrition processing, and a redesigned exercise Journey.
  • As of September 30, the U.S. App Store listing shows a 5.0 rating from 20 ratings.
  • Officially launched on September 24, 2026, following earlier public availability. At our six-day launch milestone on September 30, RevenueCat reported 516 active customers and 323 new customers across its rolling 28-day reporting window. These figures include activity before the official launch.

What we learned

Shipping clarified that people do not need more disconnected graphs; they need faster input, careful context, and an obvious next action. Transparency also matters in monetization: the free path must remain visible, trial and renewal terms must be concrete, and premium value should map to ongoing analysis and infrastructure costs. Finally, building a health product across languages forced every visual and sentence to earn its place—especially on smaller screens and in RTL layouts.

What's next for HealthMaxxing

We have a working product, a physician-and-psychologist founding team, and early customer activity to build on. Our next product goal is to help more people reach their first useful Body-and-Mind insight, then give them a reason to return through personal patterns, small experiments, and weekly reviews.

Our immediate growth constraint is budget. We want to introduce HealthMaxxing to a wider audience, but limited advertising resources restrict how quickly we can test channels and expand. Support would let us run measured acquisition experiments, learn which audiences find lasting value, and build on that evidence while keeping core tracking free.

The opportunity now is to help more people discover what we have built. We welcome partners who can contribute distribution, marketing expertise, or funding. HealthMaxxing is live, people are using it, and we are ready to learn from a wider audience. Help reaching that audience could make a meaningful difference at this early stage.
