Inspiration
Gm. The inspiration for this project came from the challenges in obtaining ones own healthcare data, and the numerous barriers and additional costs to access this basic right. Moreover, with regard to the healthcare data economy - individual contributors such as healthcare professionals and patients are often excluded from the value exchange. For example, most people will never have experienced being paid for their healthcare data.
What it does
Our application is a personal health record (PHR) for patients. These are harmonised using established standards for healthcare data management and interoperability, such as the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) codes. Key information can be copied and pasted into the record by clinicians during the initial pilot of the MVP, with automation of data collection in future through API integrations with leading enterprise electronic health records (EHR) used by clinics and hospitals.
Challenges we ran into
Designing and developing a suitable product with the buy-in of the varied healthcare stakeholders has been a major challenge, given the compliance required for unique regulations as well as ensuring alignment of incentives with the various stakeholders.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This process of user interviews gave us critical feedback that has shaped our product, ensured incorporation of essential incentives to facilitate reliable data capture and utilisation, as well as helped prioritised our development and marketing plans for the next 12-18 months.
What's next for Healthlink
We will now start seed fund raising while continuing to build our MVP for the pilot.
