Inspiration
More than people need access to healthcare practitioners, they also need access to people who share similar health concerns to be able to share their thoughts, exchange advices on best practices that they have done and worked for them. That inspired us to provide an avenue for people living with different health conditions, ranging from mental, emotional, physical and other health related issues.
Introducing HealthLink!!!! 🥳🥳🥳
What it does
HealthLink is a health forum for people of different background and health conditions. It offers a range of features such as discussion boards, user profiles, search functionality, notifications, resource library, multi-language support, and accessibility features. By creating a community of people with shared experiences, we hope that health forum will help to reduce the burden of health conditions, improve access to healthcare information and support, and increase social connections and well-being.
How we built it
We are a team of five and we shared the project into teams. The backend was built using Django, a Python framework, Frontend utilised HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Challenges we ran into
We are a small team and some of us weren't software developers, despite been a small team we still had cases of inactive teammate which impacted the progress of our solution.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to pull the solution despite been a very little team and having a a few hands involved in the project. We are also proud to have come up with a solution that can thrive in the future.
What we learned
We learned to trust ourselves to be able to come through and we also learnt that it's not only about being able to write code, if you can't code there are numerous ways to contribute to the team regardless.
What's next for HealthLink
We hope to improve our existing solution and also implement some features that we weren't able to implement due to time constraints. We also look forward to working with health practitioners to improve the credibility of resources that will be shared.
