Inspiration
The theme of this hackathon i.e to build an application for foodies inspired us in building this application.
What it does
There are times when we are unable to decide what to order. Healthie Foodie helps you to choose a food item considering you nutrients, diets and current health condition. The app uses previous user moods and their respective food orders to suggest the best food choice for you.
How we built it
We have added Auth0 as authentication, Django as backend framework and ReactJS as frontend framework. We have used KNN algorithtm to find the best result for users taking factors such as diets, temperature, location, weather, nutrients and user's previous data.
Challenges we ran into
We were all new to ReactJS and tried first time integrating it with Django. It was most challenging part. Initially we tried to move with Django template but we had to stick with ReactJS due to time constraints.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Fully functional webapp with separately running frontend in ReactJS getting responses from Django Server using REST APIs. Used ML in web application.
What we learned
We learned KNN algorithm for this. We all were new to ReactJS working 48 hours continuously and enjoyed. Two of our team-mates were new to Django, so it was all fun.
What's next for Healthie Foodie
Adding Restaurant Suggestion and Food delivery System based on recommendation. Adding Other Factors including regions, etc. Improving UI.
