Inspiration
Everyone on our team has had to interact with multiple of the health systems at OSU. Often, the websites OSU has are cluttered or difficult to navigate, making finding help more complicated than it needs to be. Along with this, it can be tedious to keep up with daily health tracking apps (i.e. period trackers), and appointment reminders and medication refill reminders tend to become more difficult to manage with our already cluttered digital calendars. HealthI/O was created to fix these issues.
What it does
HealthI/O acts as an all-in-one platform where users can track any symptoms they may experience, their mood, sleep, nutrition, pain, and medications, all of which can be viewed on a comprehensive calendar. The AI assistant helps users determine the causes of their symptoms and directs them towards on-campus resources to help. User information is also processed from each of the trackers, allowing the AI to better personalize its responses each user.
How we built it
We used Lovable AI to build the website and implement the features.
Challenges we ran into
Our team encountered some issues with the prompt generation either writing over working code or incorrectly loading certain features.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- The chatbot, which is able to take in a user's provided symptoms and accurately provide recommendations (what the problem might be and what resources a user can access for more information)
- The modularity of the trackers, enabling the app's features to be accessible to all users
What we learned
We learned more about the health systems available at OSU and how to use the Lovable software.
What's next for HealthI/O
Future steps include MyChart integration, which would autofill user health information from the app and allow for more accurate explanations to be provided. Integration with the OSU official app and medical system would also allow the website to operate in accordance with university policies. Finally, migrating the database to REDCap would allow user data to be safely stored in the app and ensure HIPAA compliance.
