Inspiration
The Kingdom of Eswatini having a struggling healthcare sector, that fails to cater for disadvantaged or people in remote with transportation difficulties.
What it does
This Application seeks to offer a means through which both doctors and patients can have an avenue for communication, relating to doctor's availability at the healthcare facility, setting appointments and updating patient medical records.
How we built it
I used Google AppSheet to offer the template from which the app would be built, whilst using assistance from the Google LLM, Gemini.
Challenges we ran into
Regulatory issues were the largest inhibitor massively delaying development and deployment, as virtual consultation could not be added as a feature yet it would have been the most significant advancement.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Full functionality of the app was achieved, with user feedback from a Healthcare Student, commending the idea.
What we learned
App Development in the healthcare space has a lot of regulatory hoops preventing it from pushing the boundaries of what it can do in terms of assistance to people.
What's next for HealthHub
Deployment as part of a Doctor's office package within the city of Manzini, in The Kingdom of Eswatini, with drives for larger user engagement, in wider areas so as to have it become part of every doctor's package.
