Inspiration
Our inspiration for creating this project was to help provide health information and advice for people who are unfamiliar with health and medicine. As a team, none of us are from Phoenix/Arizona, so we wanted to be able to create something that could help people navigate unfamiliar situations and circumstances. Heath is something that can be difficult to take care of and manage on your own, so we thought this website would be something that all people could use and find helpful in any location.
What it does
Our website "Health Hero" allows users to log in and message a chatbot which provides health advice and steps to wellness. Users can ask the chatbot any question related to health and receive steps to mitigate any issues and treat wounds or other problems.
How we built it
We built this website using Flask for the back-end development and HTML and CSS for the front-end. We also used groq for the LLM API.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into a great deal of challenges, mostly with connecting the front-end to the back-end. Our team consists fully of first-time hackathon participants so it was a struggle to find solutions to our challenge but we learned a lot in the process.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
One big thing that we're proud of is developing a functional chat bot and creating a visually pleasing UI design, although we couldn't implement it very smoothly.
What we learned
We learned that we have a lot to improve on and that there are countless things that we can still learn about coding and web development.
What's next for HealthHeros
In the future, we want to improve on connecting front-end elements to back-end and implementing more features to our projects.
