Inspiration
When looking at what has the target audience of constituents engaged, as we realized that our target population of constituents are very engaged with games such as Candy Crush. We took those ideas and put those to our own website that combines the rewarding experience of games and the routine of healthcare and made a program that will help patients keep on top of their health while also gaining real rewards from doing so.
What it does
It's a website that garners engagement from constituents by game-ifying the experience of care by giving out daily rewards that can be used to redeem real rewards later on. This website also gathers real feedback and has an emergency feature for instant help for the user. There's a notification page that tells the user important tasks to be done.
How we built it
We built it using javascript for our backend processing and html for our frontend. We also used localstorage to make a working version of all the login and coin management things but we would definitely switch to a different way of handling it so that the information is saved across different computers as opposed to just locally.
Challenges we ran into
We experienced a lot of difficulty connecting our frontend and backend at first and spent a couple of hours testing out different frontends and backends before we settled on javascript and html. We learned
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We managed to create a pain heat map using scripts that lets the user accurately map out the location and magnitude of their pain. We also implemented a real time clock that updates with every minute and shows the current date. The design combines flair with functionality too.
What we learned
Communication, collaboration, and problem solving in a group. We learned scripts that combined the front-end HTML and the back-end java script. We also learned how to combine design with function
