Inspiration
The reason I developed HealthGo is because I noticed that many people across the planet do not have access to essential health services. In just the United States alone, 30 million Americans do not have access to healthcare. Even in the cases that the Americans do have access to healthcare, many of them are not able to pay off the cost of these expenses due to their high price. In addition, to accessibility many citizens do not have access to adequate mental health check-ups or counselors. Depression and suicidal thoughts have been exacerbated by the Covid pandemic, and I wanted to do my part to help people who suffer from these conditions.
What it does
HealthGo is a centralized platform that allows users to record and view their health and biometric data. HealthGo is able to bridge the gap between patients and medical professionals. The app gives users access to a chatbot, emergency contacts, healthcare provider, and personal check-ins in order to make sure that patient is being taken care of. The app also includes a mental-health personal survey in order to make sure that the patient isn't dealing with any sort of stress. The main goal of the app is the algorithm which will be able to flag any inconsistent data, whether it be high BPM or poor results on the mental health survey and put the patient in touch with a healthcare provider. In addition, at the bottom of the app is the phone button, which if held for 3 seconds will allow the patient to call their registered emergency contact.
What's next for HealthGo
HealthGo's plans are to be integrated as a part of every hospital system. In addition, the algorithm to flag any concerning data points needs to be worked on and needs to be calibrated so that it acts differently based on each patient and their unique upbringing and conditions.
