Inspiration

We were inspired by the struggles faced by elderly people in our communities. Many seniors forget their medicines, miss doctor appointments, and have difficulty reaching hospitals on time. We realized that technology can bridge the gap between elders, families, and healthcare providers. Seeing how simple reminders and monitoring can save lives motivated us to build HealthConnect, a solution that brings safety, support, and timely care to every elderly person.

What it does

HealthConnect is a smart elderly care platform that helps seniors manage their daily health needs easily. It provides: Medicine reminders with voice alerts Video consultation with doctors Emergency SOS support Health monitoring (heart rate, oxygen, BP — via wearable integration) Family dashboard so children can track their parents’ health in real time Overall, it makes healthcare accessible and ensures that elders never feel alone.

How we built it

We used BASS44 -BASS44 board used for sensors like heart rate, SpO2, and motion detection -Extend-MATTER protocol for seamless communication between IoT devices -Health data collected and pushed securely to our cloud dashboard

Challenges we ran into

Integrating BASS44 sensors with MATTER protocol took extra time Maintaining stable data transfer from IoT board to mobile app Making the UI extremely simple for elderly people Getting accurate readings while keeping hardware low-cost Time limitations for combining hardware + software seamlessly

Successfully built the App using BASS44 Built a real-time IoT health monitoring system Created an easy-to-use interface tested by elders Implemented working medicine reminders and SOS features Achieved stable multi-platform communication (hardware to cloud to mobile app)
