Inspiration
I know that many people who go to the hospital suffer from loneliness or anxiety. The hospital and treatment that a patient goes through can be scary, and I wanted to create an app that makes the patient and their family as comfortable as possible during the hospital stay. The goal of the app is for the patient to feel connected to their care team and to the events that are going on at the hospital.
What it does
The app is meant to provide a space where the patient can connect with other members at the hospital whether it be patients, doctors, or their care team. The app provides the patient the ability to check their care team, request assistance, file a service request, or set up an appointment with their doctor. Furthermore, the app provides the patient to play mini-games on their own or with other people at the hospital.
How we built it
The app was built using solely flutter.
What's next for HealthConnect
HealthConnect has many new features that I plan on adding such as increasing the gaming features so that multiplayer games can be played by patients. I also plan on adding a family feature so that patients can view messages sent by family or friends on the app, so that they feel more energized even though they may have just returned from surgery.
