Inspiration
What inspired me to make this project is the dozens of signs on people's yard saying "thank you health care workers". I thought that by making HealthcareHeroes, I could personalize the gratitude.
What it does
My website allows users who have signed up to send messages of gratitude to doctors. When doctors sign up for the site, users will be able to send them messages under the "compose" section. They can choose any doctor that is registered on the site!
How we built it
I built it using Javascript, handlebars, and some css. I used NodeJs on the backend and jquery on the frontend.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges I ran into were working the database and connecting the frontend to the backend
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm very proud of how the database works. Sometimes, databases can be very annoying to setup and use. But I was able to set up our SQL database very fast.
What we learned
I learned how truly hard it is the build something so big in just under a day
What's next for HealthcareHeroes.io
What is next for HealthcareHeroes I think is that we will improve security and DEFINITELY the aesthetics. Because I was short on time, I had very little time to style the website
