Inspiration
- Amazon for Medical/Healthcare Equipments
- Streamlining the process of equipment sourcing with as little hassle as possible
What it does
- HAMS is a platform where one can manage their inventory as well as buy/sell equipments at the marketplace.
How we built it
- We first thought of the various table schemas that would be involved
- Then we plotted the process flow, i.e. how the user will navigate through the website and we noted the steps
- Based on those, we came up with a frontend and started developing
- Initial tests were performed by entering data through Django's default admin portal
- Then we tested the data creation and updating with the frontend that we developed
Challenges we ran into
- Unknown bugs due to lack of experience in Django
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Creating a functional web app that executes as expected
- Accomplishing to create an MVP when we were on the verge of giving up
What we learned
- Django ORM is very overpowered
- Planning ahead goes a long way
- Take it one feature at a time
- ChatGPT FTW!!
What's next for HAMS - Healthcare Asset Management System
- Optimizing the code to make it faster and more secure
- Using a frontend framework to make the user experience smooth
- Develop approval mechanisms for the suppliers
- Adding event logging to analyse the anomalies that occur in real life
