Inspiration
My inspiration for this project came from the recent news acrticle where it was mentioned for a need of a centralised database for a country in the domain of health care which would add a significant value to the country. It will not only be a centralised database storing health related data but also eliminating the present paper-based document system by having a personalized dashboard for each citizen which would have all health records and documents related, from birth till death.
What it does
It is a health based centralised database for the people of the country which would have a Unique Applicant ID (UAI) once he/she is born. This personalised database will be with him/her throughout his/her life till death containing all data and documents related to health regardless when and where it is conducted (i.e. not region/hospital specific). The present paper-based document process can be replaced where each patient has to carry his/her documents to hospital which makes it a bit tedicious process. This system would help doctors as well as patients by having access to all data records in a graphical as well as different pictorial representation in just a click. Also it would help the patients to get the location of the nearest hospital, just by entering the pincode of the city they are currently in, specially solving the problem of finding it difficult to get to a hospital in a new city.
How we built it
This project is built currently using the following tech stack:
- ReactJs
- Bootstrap
Challenges we ran into
There was no such major challenges faced as its currently just the frontend part of the project. But few most common challenges which I faced while building this project are choosing a smooth UI/UX so that it is attractive as well as user-friendly. It was time getting into a hackathon and implementing different languages and framework together and bringing my idea into implementation.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I personally feel the idea is a need of time and giving it a initial interface using basic knowledge of web development makes one of the major accomplishments. There are various features which has to be added and one of them is most basic i.e. responsiveness. But getting the knowledge and hands on implementation on these basic tech stack is itself a lot to learn.
What we learned
The major learning from this project are as follows:
- The basic implementation of the tech stack such as ReactJS and Bootstrap.
- Getting to understand to make a clean and user-friendly interface for the website.
- Brainstorming for ideas and features which can be implemented in the upcoming versions.
What's next for Healthcare
This initial version of the HealthCare is just a frontend part of the idea proposed. There are many features that needs to be implemented to make it a fully-fledged implementable system. There many things which need to be worked on such as location API's, integrating it with a database, login authentication etc. Also the interface needs to modified to make it more attractive as well as user-friendly.
