Inspiration

Discussions with family, friends and colleagues about their personal experience when it comes to paying for their medical procedures and frustrations when understanding their medical bills. Wanting to contribute to making a real change in the complex healthcare field. And with the regulation passed by CMS, the change is coming.

What it does

It will help patients compare the cost and quality of medical services upfront., and help them reduce their medical costs.

How we built it

1.We carried out online survey and conducted 2 user interviews. 2.Quickly analyzed the findings. 3.Created a user flow chart in miro. 4.Sketched frames

1. Designed the wireframes in figma.

Challenges we ran into

1. Short Timeframe to create mockups 2.Not enough time for proper research and analysis
2. Limited amount of health data

What's next for HealthCalc - A price estimation tool

Next is to build the app using the 70 shoppable cash price services and make it fully functional And with more data being released by hospitals the app plans to build on it.
