Inspiration
We started with a simple observation: 2 billion people use WhatsApp daily, but most have no way to navigate US healthcare safely.
The problem isn't access — it's understanding. We've all been there: confused by a prescription, scared to call 911 because of cost, unsure if a symptom needs urgent care. For immigrants, gig workers, and underserved communities, these barriers are even higher.
Then we realized something else: generic health chatbots hallucinate drug interactions. They give vague advice. They don't meet people where they already are.
We built HealthBridge to be different — not a chatbot wrapper, but a layered clinical navigation system that:
- Grounds every drug interaction in real FDA data (RxNorm, openFDA, FAERS)
- Detects emergencies deterministically (zero LLM latency when someone says "chest pain")
- Reads your actual prescription photo instead of asking you to type
- Guides you to the nearest sliding-fee clinic in under 2 seconds
- Works in 10+ languages
All on WhatsApp. No app download. No login.
