Inspiration

Many people receive complex medical lab reports that are difficult to understand. Lack of clarity often delays diagnosis or proper care, especially in rural areas with limited doctor access. We wanted to empower users by translating these reports into simple language and actionable advice.

What it does

HealthBridge AI allows users to upload lab reports as images or PDFs. It extracts medical values, explains them in plain language, highlights any risks with color codes, and provides personalized health tips. Users can also download a clear PDF summary of their results.

How we built it

We used Bolt to build a no-code AI app integrating GPT-4o Vision for OCR and natural language processing. The AI extracts values, assesses risk levels, and generates explanations and advice. The app’s UI displays results clearly using cards and color indicators.

Challenges we ran into

Extracting accurate data from diverse lab report formats and images.

Ensuring medical explanations are simple yet precise without causing undue alarm.

Balancing AI-generated advice with the need for disclaimers about professional consultation.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Creating a functional AI-powered assistant that demystifies medical reports for non-experts.

Building a fully deployable app in Bolt without writing custom backend code.

Designing a user-friendly interface that presents complex info clearly.

What we learned

The power of GPT-4o Vision for real-world document understanding.

How to guide AI to give responsible, empathetic health explanations.

Challenges in bridging technical AI capabilities with practical healthcare needs.

What's next for HealthBridge AI

Improve OCR accuracy for handwritten or low-quality reports.

Add multi-language support (Hindi, Telugu, Tamil) to expand accessibility.

Integrate with telemedicine platforms for direct doctor consultations.

Incorporate user feedback to refine health tips and UI experience.
