Inspiration
One of our teammates was recently diagnosed with Crohn's disease, and we wanted to find a way to help him live a healthier life
What it does
An android app that allows users to input macros such as calories, protein, fiber, etc either manually or by taking a picture of a nutrition label.
How I built it
Build using android studio, firebase databases, firebase ML KIT
Challenges I ran into
Various UI challenges, integrating a database, getting accurate readings of nutrition labels using our image to text algorithm. A big challenge we had was increasing the accuracy of the text recognition. We solved this by increasing the resolution of the image by first storing it in the device's internal storage and then retrieving it to process the image.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We were able to accurately take a picture of a nutrition label and store that information!
What I learned
I truly enjoy working with Android Studio and learning about Google Firebase.

We look forward to publishing our app on the Google Play Store soon!
