Growing up with severe food allergies, my life has been significantly different from others. I aspire to become a programmer who can create things that solve problems for people suffering from health issues. My experiences with severe allergies have shaped how I view the world, motivating me to learn how to improve medical technologies. My passion for health and coding led me to create Health-Touch AR.

Health-Touch AR offers a diverse range of experiences all within one app. With augmented reality (AR) technology, users can engage in interactive activities to promote environmental conservation, sort virtual trash, and gain insights into correct waste disposal. For individuals with disabilities, the app provides support, allowing them to interact with real-world objects. Additionally, users can conveniently monitor their health such as blood pressure and sugar levels. The app also offers an immersive AR basketball game, allowing users to enjoy the thrill of virtual basketball right from their devices along with the medical-focused features.

Health-Touch AR was built with the Unity and Niantic ADRK Framework. We used C# to develop the scripts, Unity for the front end, and Blender+OnShape to model the objects. We also created a website for our project which was created in HTML and CSS.

Some challenges we ran into was a way to collaborate our different coding skills. In the beginning I helped Logan with C# and using tutorials we were able to code the back end of the app together. When I moved to the front end Logan started on the Website for our project. We pulled an all-nighter due to the workload that we had to complete. We were tired and overworked but we finished!

We learned that we can collaborate and combine experiences to really make an amazing app that can help the community.

We plan to improve the AR aspects of Health-Touch to make it more user-friendly and less overwhelming.
