Inspiration
We found within our own families that members who suffered from chronic conditions/rare diseases were unable to undergo proper treatments due to the lack of data in medical research.
What it does
Platform that allows crowd-sourcing of medical data for research of rare medical diseases, and socially connects users providing the data.
How I built it We made the database using sql and then connected it to our front end (html and css) using Flask.
Challenges I ran into None of us had any experience actually creating the sql database and then connecting it to the front-end of Flask. We didn't really know where to start. Also, we picked up html and css as we went.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of Being able to take the knowledge from the workshop and modify it for our own purposes.
What I learned How sql works, the benefits of flask vs. php
What's next for Health Search Adding a fully functioning chat function so that users can connect with other uses based on similar symptoms, conditions, etc.. Also analyzing visually.
