Inspiration
Many times, people receive medical reports but the complex healthcare vocabulary makes it difficult to understand. We wanted to provide a way to quickly and easily learn about the results of your visits to the doctor.
What it does
The app uses image recognition and the Google Gemini large language models to process the medical data and digest it into a more comprehensible version, with nice visuals and integrated reminders for medication intake. The user can then chat with the AI model about the results and ask questions.
How we built it
We enhanced our development process by taking advantage of agentic coding tools like Gemini CLI and Claude Code. These tools, paired with our programming knowledge, allowed us to produce a high quality product in less than 12 hours.
Challenges we ran into
Setting up the environment to efficiently test the mobile application on our laptops proved to be a non-trivial task.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
At first we were not sure if we would be able to completely implement the chat feature, and in the end it proved to be a very satisfying accomplishment.
What we learned
While having some previous experience, none of us were proficient in writing mobile applications and this project allowed us to expand our knowledge in this field.
What's next for Health Report Assistant
We would feel very happy if we could push our application into the public healthcare system to improve the quality of the medical services.
