Inspiration

During hospital stays, we saw something heartbreaking — patients weren’t just battling illness, but also loneliness, boredom, and mental exhaustion. Especially children, the elderly, and bedridden individuals often lacked motivation, engagement, and emotional support. That’s when we asked: What if healing could feel joyful?

What it does

"Health Joy" is an AI-powered digital companion designed to support patients emotionally and mentally, not just clinically. It reminds patients to take their meds, rewards healthy habits, plays mood-based music and stories, offers fun health quizzes and mini-games, and even lets them explore the hospital virtually — all with a cheerful assistant called -Joy.

How we built it

We built HealthJoy using the perfect blend of modern tech and human empathy.

  • HTML gave us the structure — clear, clean, and accessible for all.
  • Tailwind CSS made the design feel soft, calming, and patient-friendly.
  • JavaScript brought Joy to life — handling reminders, moods, progress tracking, and dynamic interactions.
  • ARIA attributes ensured accessibility, so no one is left out, regardless of ability.
  • Font Awesome added expressive icons, making health communication visual and intuitive.
  • We also prepared the app for future intelligence with TensorFlow.js, to learn and adapt to users over time.

Every line of code was written with one mission: To make healing feel joyful.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge? Designing a healthcare product that feels human. We spent hours crafting Joy’s personality, syncing AI interactions, and making the experience intuitive for all age groups — especially those unfamiliar with tech.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We turned a clinical concept into something emotional, interactive, and joyful. Watching people smile while testing the app — that’s our proudest moment.

What we learned

Healing isn’t just medical — it’s emotional. And sometimes, a smile is stronger than a pill.

What's next for Health Joy

We plan to expand HealthJoy into voice-based conversations, add personalized recovery plans, and collaborate with real hospitals to improve in-patient engagement and recovery outcomes. We also plan on adding firebase to our project for real time monitoring. We plan on adding AWS ,NICE CXone like cloud service to get these into cross country too.
