Inspiration
I and my team always wanted a web application where we could not only get all the necessary Health calculators, but also a dynamic website that would allow us to have various other leisures as well. Could we find a website like that? NO. That is when I and my Team have decided why not make it ourselves? Here we present HEALTH BEE.
What it does
We have added in various useful calculators we need in our day-to-day life within the short period provided to us. Not only that, but we have also integrated Spotify API to help keep our user's minds at peace while performing Yoga or any other task. Oh, while doing Yoga won't you want to time it or have a separate timer to time yourself? Don't worry, we got you covered in that as well by having a built-in timer. It also has exciting 21 days challenge page where everyone can try and take part and push themselves to their limits. If anyone would want to read Blogs on any health-related topic, we have a separate page dedicated only to Blogs in which users can spend their time in an efficient manner.
How we built it
We built it using Javascript and CSS while making a React Application, integrating other useful APIs required as well such as Spotify and many more in order to make our website unique and user friendly.
Challenges we ran into
The major issue we ran into was that we wanted to make our website unique and it made us do a lot of research before we began, as this is a health-related project and we couldn't make any mistakes that would affect our user's health or mental state. It's a sensitive topic. Ran into many errors while building which we later solved by discussing with each other and striking off one after the other. It was an intense and hectic journey that we wouldn't take back.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We have integrated Spotify API which we can change for any song we want it to. We made a challenge page for our users in order to keep it interactive as well as health-conscious at the same time. Our website isn't any other Health calculator web application, but it is a HEALTH BEE of its own.
What we learned
We all learned how to efficiently work with APIs and how to make our website unique from the crowd. Researched a lot about calculators and made sure we used the best. I and my team have for sure become more health-conscious because of this project and are hoping others will as well. We heartfully thank MLH for giving us this opportunity.
What's next for Health Bee
Our next goal will be to make the website on a major scale and add in more calculators, challenges, Blogs, and to integrate various other APIs to help everyone to get everything they need at ONE place
