Inspiration
We've seen how doctors and other individuals in the healthcare industry are currently flooded with work and questions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our goal is to take some weight off of their shoulders by providing an additional resource where patients can get their questions answered.
What it does
It allows patients to enter their symptoms to provide an estimate of their diagnosis if they are sick, as well as an additional resource about their diagnosis. It also has the functionality to check the symptoms of COVID-19 and the number of COVID-19 cases in the last ten days. The final feature of this project lets you select diseases to see what the symptoms are.
Challenges we ran into
When working on the background, it was very finicky, in the sense of if we changed one part of it, the whole thing would change. We also ran into some debugging challenges when combining our code.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud that we were able to go to our first Hackathon and successfully execute our project idea.
What we learned
We learned many new features of JavaFX and how to stylistically change the user interface.
What's next for Health Assist
We look to expand to include as many sicknesses as we can, as well as improve the accuracy of our diagnosis. We
