Inspiration

Today's workforce can prove to be a competitive and strenuous one, so we felt ConocoPhillips' challenge to create a safety app to ensure the well-being of employees was a task worthwhile taking on.

What it does

The app provides employees with periodic reminders to self-check and perform some short, very easy tasks that will go a long way to ensure wellness and prevent employees from burning-out, losing morale and motivation, and any possible physical injuries both in and out of work. The app also provides infographics that are easy to follow to give employees good examples. The app also features a community-driven forum where members of a company can share their own tips and tricks that helped them, going beyond what the app and the health-expert curated tips can give. This is great for any widespread, short-term, work/life related issues that many people are facing.

How we built it

The app was built using React, Javascript, and CSS in Visual Studio Code, using GitHub to synchronize work.

Challenges we ran into

Most of us were pure beginners to React and Javascript, so learning the two while building the app in a short amount of time proved to be a fun challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Most of us got to experience work with React for the first time, leading us to learn a lot within such a short span of time. We were able to get a working product that had functionality.

What we learned

We got to learn a lot about React and its role in creating an application, getting a peek into its potential and place in the professional workforce.
