Inspiration
Our team was inspired by the fact with COVID-19 still going on, a lot of people tend to search their symptoms online to see whether they got infected by the virus. Not only that, many people tend to look up diseases or medical conditions that they have based on the symptoms that they noticed.
What it does
Knowing users' mindset, we decided to create a mobile app called "MediCheck," that allow users to input their symptoms, and the app will output the most likely diseases or medical conditions that they may have. In addition to that, they can check their BMI and update themselves with current medical news.
How we built it
Before developing MediCheck, the group discussed on the main functions that should be implemented on the app. After that we divided into smaller teams to work on the prototyping and coding of the app. The coding was based on an API that we found online. When we know the API that we are working with, we decided to build the prototype with matching functions.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge we ran into was trying to match the codes with the prototype because as we develop, we figured out there were part of the codes that didn't match the prototype, or there was part of the prototype that wasn't included in the code.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud that we were able to have a prototype as well as the code written out for the main features of MediCheck.
What we learned
Throughout the developing process, we learned that being able to match the back-end of the product with its front-end/prototype takes a lot of work. Everyone in the group must be able to communicate and share their ideas clearly in order for everything to run smoothly.
What's next for MediCheck
What is still ahead for MedicCheck is that the user login prototype along with the back-end for it since we want to give users the option to keep track of their health. Furthermore, we hope to suggest clinic or medical center that are close to the users, so they will be able to check their health.
