Inspiration
In many rural and semi-urban areas, people struggle to find reliable healthcare information. They often don't know which hospital is nearest, which clinic is open, or where to go during emergencies. We wanted to build a solution that gives real-time, accurate, online healthcare information so users can quickly access the help they need.This inspired us to create HealMap, an online healthcare awareness platform.
What it does
Real-time nearby hospital and clinic tracking Details like services offered, doctor availability, timings, and distance Live contact numbers for hospitals and emergency services Emergency buttons to call ambulance or health helplines Live map navigation using GPS + internet Automatic updates whenever new healthcare facilities are added
How we built it
Python for internal logic and React, Tailwind CSS, and TypeScript for web applications. Connected to an online database Integrated Google Maps API for live map navigation Added APIs to fetch doctors, services, timings, and availability Implemented GPS for accurate live location Built an admin panel where authorities can update hospital details anytime
Challenges we ran into
