HeaLink

Inspiration

We, team Healink, have a passion for providing affordable and reliable healthcare to those who aren’t fortunate enough to be able to receive it. As students who live in the suburban area of the San Gabriel Valley, we constantly live under the guilt of privilege and immunity. To provide for the less gifted people, we came up with an app that connects people with medical professionals and students for free.

What it does

HeaLink comes in 2 forms: an app that is accessed through mobile devices and a pop-up stand that can be found in rural areas. HeaLink is purely directed towards medical and healthcare issues, providing patients access to pre-recorded videos through both the mobile app and pop-up stands to resolve medical issues they may have. When in a more critical situation, HeaLink allows users to make a call with a doctor or medical student.

How we built it

As of now, we plan on starting it as an app or website. We aim to collaborate with doctors and students of medical programs to create resources that are reliable and easy to follow. We have already designed a self-intuitive homepage that simulates the app, which is in the slides that we uploaded in the video.

Challenges we ran into

Throughout the course of brainstorming and creating our website/app there were many challenges and problems we’ve faced. Looking for a specific target demographic for our pitch was extremely difficult. Around the globe it’s inevitable that many do have unsolved healthcare concerns.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

One of our proudest accomplishments with HeaLink is coming up with a solution that directly helps with the millions of people around the world with the lack of healthcare. On top of that, we are especially proud of how we collaborated as a team to build an app that is accessible and impactful.

What we learned

Through our journey, we learned that true growth happens when passion and creativity work together. Most importantly, even as students, we have the ability to create something that will truly make a difference and help people all over the world.

What's next for HeaLink

In addition to providing solutions to basic healthcare needs, we aim to expand our product to target fields like odontology and therapy. Our development in the United States is a priority, but we believe that our expansion to the global market will greatly impact everyone’s awareness regarding health.
