Inspiration
The idea for FluPred came about after witnessing the devastating impact of influenza outbreaks on communities around the world. I was inspired to develop a solution that could help predict and prevent these outbreaks.
We saw an opportunity to leverage machine learning algorithms and predictive models to analyze large amounts of data from various sources, such as social media, news articles, and health records, to provide accurate and timely predictions of influenza outbreaks. By detecting early warning signs of an outbreak, we could help public health officials and medical professionals take proactive measures to prevent the spread of the virus and ultimately save lives.
What it does
it uses machine learning algorithms to predict whether outbreaks will happen or not in the next week
How we built it
Core technologies used were python and Azure ML
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges we faced was the integration of multiple data sources, each with its unique format and structure. We had to develop sophisticated data cleaning and processing algorithms to ensure that the data was consistent and accurate.
Time constraints as I had other commitments / getting a new job
Project can be improved to include a web interface
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I got the opportunity to prepare for the PD 900 examination. After completing that examination I would be very valuable for me. I was able to submit a solution for the hackathon Even though I could Relax and enjoy my free time.
What we learned
Azure ML, Azure Ai, Power Apps, How to Successfully pitch our ideas for an audience
What's next for HCLTech_Influenza outbreak prediction
Have to improve the algorithm to get more accurate results
