Inspiration: We have gone through many research papers before developing the idea for our system
What it does: The system produces an alarming sound to alert the local natives whenever a landslide is noticed an alert notification to the nearby local officers so that they can rescue the people.
How we built it : The design of the system is simple. The output from soil sensor, humidity sensor and vibration sensor is fed into the microcontroller and if the values reach beyond a threshold value then an alarming sound is produced to alert the people and a text message is sent to the officer for rescue.
Challenges we ran into: The coding part involved in connecting the sensors, buzzer and GSM module was difficult.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: The system works well even if there is poor internet connection in the hilly regions.
What we learned: We had gained an equal knowledge in both hardware and software coding skills.
What's next for HC-4: We are planning to promote the system for government funded projects.
