HayPlan was born from a simple problem: finding things to do is still fragmented, noisy, and deeply impersonal. People constantly jump between Instagram stories, WhatsApp groups, ticketing platforms, and random posts just to decide where to go.
We wanted to create a smarter and more human way to explore experiences.
HayPlan is an AI-powered platform that helps users discover personalized events and activities based on their interests, location, mood, and context. Instead of endlessly scrolling through feeds, users can interact naturally and receive recommendations that genuinely match what they want to do.
The platform combines semantic search, recommendation systems, conversational AI, and real-time event aggregation. We built the backend in Python, the mobile app in React Native, and the web platform in Next.js. The infrastructure is designed to scale dynamically while keeping the experience simple and intuitive.
One of the biggest challenges was structuring event data coming from multiple fragmented sources while maintaining relevance and personalization quality. Another major challenge was designing recommendation flows that feel genuinely useful instead of intrusive.
Throughout the process, we learned a lot about AI-driven recommendation systems, discovery experiences, product design, and building fast-moving startup infrastructure.
Our goal with HayPlan is simple: make discovering experiences feel as natural as starting a conversation.
