Inspiration
We wanted a chaotic and fast paced party game that combined aspects of farming with quick gameplay.
What it does
Our game is a local 2-player game that consists of collecting the most crops as possible within a time constraint using specific tools for their respective jobs. It is a race against the clock and one other friend to see who is the better farmer.
How we built it
To build Hay Fever we used GoDot and GitHub to collaboratively work on a 2D project while synchronizing files.
Challenges we ran into
Only one of our team members had used GoDot so it was a major learning curve to start.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Learning a new game engine and completing our first ever game development project!
What we learned
GoDot has a special type of interface called Signaling that allows for developers to have objects communicate in a simple and efficient manner (once you figure it out) and it is very time saving.
What's next for Hay Fever
In the future we would like to add online multiplayer and more powerups/debuffs as they add more variety to the game.
