Inspiration

2 years of Covid lockdowns has made it difficult to meet friends and socialize. This app helps alleviate your social difficulties by connecting you with other likeminded friends at Laurier.

What it does

Takes users' interests and finds other users with similar interests and introduces them to each other. Also recommends campus clubs and events based on users' interests.

How we built it

Canva, Figma, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Ajax, Node.Js, Express, SQL

Challenges we ran into

We tried using PyQt5 at first to make this a mobile app, but that turned out to be too difficult so we did a webapp instead.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

That we were able to completely change what we used and how we executed our original concept, yet we still remained true to finding a solution to the problem that was the justification for making this project in the first place.

What we learned

Even when you get very far into something difficult, when you realize it won't work out, it's important to take a step back, re-evaluate your decisions, and get back to work without losing any confidence.
