What it does

  • Provides real time data of the amout of people in a shelter, which allows other homeless people or shelter to be better informed of which shelters are free

  • Aim to monitor food stocks, so company like foodsharingottawa.com knows where there is a lack of food, and surplus of food, leading to efficient use of donated food, and helping others efficiently.

How we built it

  • Gadget was used for the frontend and database
  • QNX was used to sense movement in a "shelter" and use that to estimate how many people entered then send that info to Gadget

  • Getting a camera for food monitoring
  • Having Resource Supplier that delivers to homeless to be able to report if they need food
