🚀 About the Project
Have More Ideas is a startup idea generator powered by AI. It helps developers, indie hackers, and entrepreneurs quickly discover new SaaS ideas — complete with names, domains, pitches, target audience, and estimated revenue.
🎯 What inspired us?
We were tired of staring at blank Notion pages. Every builder has faced "the idea block" — so we thought: why not build a tool that solves that exact problem? Inspired by tools like Namelix and [SaaS Idea Generator], we wanted to go further by providing not just names, but full mini-concepts.
🛠 How we built it
- Frontend: Next.js 14 App Router with Tailwind CSS for fast prototyping.
- Backend: API routes that call OpenAI to generate startup ideas based on curated prompt engineering.
- Domain availability: We use real-time domain checking to only show viable
.comsuggestions. - UI: Cards inspired by Product Hunt and Namelix, optimized for idea scanning.
🧠 What we learned
- Crafting effective prompts is as important as writing code.
- Design and UX matter even in MVPs — beautiful cards increased engagement.
- Time-boxed projects force ruthless prioritization.
⚠️ Challenges
- Getting consistent and varied idea outputs from GPT.
- Filtering out unrealistic or redundant ideas.
- Building a clean, responsive UI under 2 hours during a hackathon sprint.
