Inspiration
Haunted Focus combines the familiar Pomodoro workflow with a playful Halloween setting. The idea is to make progress visible: every completed focus session brings more light to a haunted house. The spooky theme supports motivation while keeping everyday task management simple.
What it will do
Haunted Focus is a planned productivity app featuring a focus timer, break reminders, a task list, and daily focus statistics.
Each completed focus session will light up another window in the haunted house. Tasks will appear as little ghosts that transform into stars when completed. A conventional list view, readable controls, and optional animations will keep the experience accessible and distraction-free.
How I plan to build it
I plan to use Kiro to define requirements, structure the implementation, and develop the app incrementally. I will start with the timer and task-management workflow, then add progress tracking and the Halloween-themed interface.
Testing will focus on timer accuracy, task-state changes, and preserving progress when the app is refreshed.
What I hope to learn
I want to explore how spec-driven development can turn a creative concept into a reliable application. Another goal is to learn how visual feedback and animation can support productivity without distracting from the task at hand.
Anticipated challenges
The main challenges will be keeping the timer reliable when switching tabs, maintaining consistent task and session data, and balancing a memorable spooky interface with clarity and accessibility.
What's next
The project is currently in the planning stage. The next step is to build and test the core workflow, then refine the haunted-house visuals. This story will be updated with the actual implementation, lessons learned, and challenges encountered as development progresses.
