Annually an average household consumes approximately 25000 Terawatt of electricity annually, Out of which a big fraction is generated using replenishable sources. With constant progress in technological sector and introduction of new tech almost everyday we are increasing our electricity consumption at a surprising rate.
Hatsuden Boturu (発電 ボトル) – Which translates to power generating bottle. Hatsuden Boturu is a daily use IOT embedded beverage flask that can generate Electricity using the contrasting temperatures of the beverages user stores in it. This whole project works on the basis of the Seebeck effect. When the contrasting temperatures come in contact of Thermoelectric Generator Peltier Plates it initializes a Flow of electrons resulting in generating electricity. The flask has two separate chambers for hot and cool liquids to be stored, between these chambers sandwiched eight TEG Peltier plates. A fraction of the flask at the bottom is fitted with all the necessary electronics which are used to harness the electricity generated by the Peltier plates, connect the flask to user’s smartphone using IOT, and a type-c 5v output – suitable for charging any smartphone, Smartwatch or wireless earphones.
The ESP32 Microcontroller gives the flask an intelligence and ability to communicate with the user. The microcontroller connects to our own Hatsuden Mobile Application through wi-fi or Bluetooth which can be chose by the user. To switch connectivity mode from wi-fi to Bluetooth or vice-versa all user needs to do is press the master button on the flask for a duration of three seconds and the device will be paired through a new channel. The MPU6050 Senser here is used to detect the number of times the user has consumed the beverage, and send a reminder to the user if they have not hydrated themselves for a long duration of time. All this data can be accessed on the mobile application along with battery percentage of the Li-Ion Cell we used for storing the generated electricity.
Hatsuden Boturu can easily be part of anyone’s lifestyle. Either it’s a student or a working employee, It works for all! All you have to do is replace your old and bulky thermos flasks with Hatsuden Boturu for storing your beverages and Viola! You can generate your own electricity. This reduces the carbon footprint which we were leaving by using electricity generated by fossil fuels and also eliminates the weight of those bulky steel bottles and power bank. Along with that your power generating flask keeps a note if you have hydrated yourself or not, and just in case reminds you too. Few More Advantages : Portable Light Weight Insulated Made from recycled materials IOT Connectivity
One of the biggest challenge for us was to achieve the connectivity of the ESP36 Module and Smartphone
We are proud to achieve such refinement in our designs and that we were able to explore IOT to such depths
Further we would like to develop a more economic version of Hatsuden Boturu, With a wider range of features such as virtual assistance connectivity, In container filtration, Wireless Charging support and a few more versions with and array of sizes
