The story behind
Social media moves fast. It fills our screens with ideals, filters, and constant pressure to look perfect. This project is an invitation to stop for a few seconds, to step out of the scroll and into a space of reflection. It’s not about judging beauty, but about wondering what it really means today. Beauty is never just one thing.
Sometimes it hurts, sometimes it frees us. It can lift us up or completely cover us. It is pleasure, reflection, excess, and touch. Beauty is a constant contradiction, so close we feel it on our skin, yet so elusive we can never truly define it. What do we carry when we carry beauty?
In this series, beauty takes the shape of hats, not as decoration, but as symbols of how we live it. A crown of thorns, reminding us that beauty can demand sacrifice. A mirror hat, showing that beauty often exists through the eyes of others. A crystal crown, growing and multiplying over time as a cultural legacy. A hat made of trash, reflecting the contradictions of a fast-food beauty culture, produced and thrown away. A golden cage, bright and seductive, holding the social expectations that are hard to escape.
Other hats celebrate the playful and the personal: A giant pompom hat exploding in color and freedom of expression. A heart-shaped balloon, light, fragile, full of the need for validation. A porcelain mask hiding the face, covering identity under unreachable perfection. A money hat, reminding us that beauty is also a product, something bought and sold, not accessible to everyone. And finally, a jewel hat, where beauty blends with status and the need to belong.
Each image is a living metaphor. Because beauty never stands still. It moves between the intimate and the public, between what is felt and what is shown. "Hats of beauty" is a fragmented dictionary. They don’t define beauty, they open it. They show it in its contradictions and its strength, in its power to make us vulnerable, and in its ability to make us shine.
Because beauty, in the end, cannot be owned. It is lived, transformed, and remembered.
