US healthcare wastes $1T+ on admin bullshit. Prior auth is the worst: 40 requests/physician/week, 13+ hours wasted, 27% denials, patients abandoning care. Payers delay on purpose. First-principles fix: if we can land rockets, we can forge approvals from messy EHR notes at machine speed. That’s why Hasting Apollo exists.

What it does

Hasting Apollo is the AI execution engine that kills prior auth. Drop any EHR order/note → auto-extract necessity → build/submit exact payer package → track live → auto-appeal denials. Minutes, not days. Zero forms, zero fax, zero hold music. Specialty practices (onco/cardio/ortho/gastro) get 70-80% time save, 20%+ fewer denials, faster cash. Replaces $500K/year human workflow with software that gets smarter every use.

How we built it

Built a narrow agentic workflow engine — domain-tuned LLM + multi-agent chain (extract → map criteria → justify → submit → appeal). Live payer policy graph updated daily. EHR integrations first. Shipped MVP in 90 days: three specialties, four payers. Co-pilot to full autopilot. No committees. Ship, measure, iterate.

Challenges we ran into

EHR integration hell. Payer denial AIs creating an arms race. Messy unstructured data. Strict HIPAA/CMS guardrails. Had to embed engineers in RCM teams for pilots to prove ROI before anyone paid.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

10 paying customers in 90 days. 70%+ time saved, 20% denial drop, ROI in first month. Built the only live payer-outcome dataset. Doctors getting evenings back and patients actually treated. Narrow wedge created uncopyable moat in 6 months.

What we learned

Narrow beats broad. Data moats compound insanely fast. Speed > everything. Forward-deployed engineers close deals when you prove numbers first. Healthcare admin is solvable with first-principles engineering, we just refused the status quo.

What's next for Hasting Apollo

Own prior auth completely, then expand to full revenue-cycle OS (claims, coding, denials). $100M ARR in 24 months. Become the infrastructure layer that forces payers to compete on care, not delay. Global where needed. This is the new standard. Just getting started.
