Inspiration
Our inspiration for choosing this challenge stemmed from the obvious need for instant access of complete medical records for both patients and providers to improve the quality of patient care the efficiency of provider workflow.
What it does
By using blockchain technology, the data records are secured and instantly accessible between different EMR systems. Patients and providers can update records and can view changes immediately.
How I built it
Leveraging off the existing blockchain technology, we used Python, Java, and Raspberry Pi to implement a patient and provider portal.
Challenges I ran into
Connectivity to our simulated cloud over the wifi interface was our biggest team challenge.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We were able to upload patient records into our simulated blockchain nodes.
What I learned
We learned a lot about blockchain technology and our ability to work as a team.
What's next for Hashtag Healthcare
To continue to develop a working phone app for patients and a computer app for providers.
