𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 🎮 In this game you’re a brand new employee who is starting out on your first day at 𝗛𝗮𝘀𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿 with the goal to 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 and 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽, eventually becoming the president of Hasburger. But, oh no! You only speak English in a country that does not! Your goal is to precisely understand your jobs’ tasks, 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗵𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 in the local language through your colleagues and clients and beautifully execute the work you are assigned. The game is aiming to both aid in 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 in a life-like environment and to captivate you in the 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹. Your choices matter, and so do your answers to possible love interests ;). Earn progress points and affection points to evolve the story and open up secret routes.
𝗚𝗼𝗮𝗹 ❗ To create a game that envelops both 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 and a 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 with interactive tasks so learning a new language feels more like entertaining gameplay than a tasking chore.

𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 🌟 Interactive Language Learning: Inspired by the idea of making language learning entertaining and captivating, we created Hasburger to combine education with an alluring gameplay experience. Drawing from the motivational power of role-playing and adventure, players advance through career levels while improving their language skills in real-world scenarios.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 🎮 Real-Life Language Tasks: Players learn practical phrases and vocabulary by completing tasks like cleaning, cooking, and managing customer service in a fast-paced burger restaurant. Career Progression: Starting as an entry-level employee, players earn promotions by successfully mastering language challenges, eventually becoming the Hasburger CEO. Point System: Players gain reputation points for completing tasks efficiently, which unlocks achievements and boosts their career, affection points can be gained through engaging with the love interest characters . Interactive Storytelling: Choices affect relationships with characters, the storyline, and the player’s reputation in the game world.
𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗶𝘁 🛠️ Ren'Py Platform: The game is developed using Ren'Py, allowing for branching narratives and a dynamic learning experience. Adaptive Difficulty: Would include an initial language proficiency test to customize the experience and adjust difficulty as the player progresses. Future Features: Planned additions include reputation points, achievements, voice-overs for correct pronunciation, and audio input for realistic language practice.
𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 ⚙️ Balancing Gameplay and Learning: Ensuring that language learning felt engaging and not overly academic. Customization Complexity: Incorporating branching endings, relationships, and achievements added depth but also complexity to development. Idea realization: Some ideas were too complex to programme in the short time-span.
𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲'𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗼𝗳 🏆 Unique Gameplay Model: Successfully combined role-playing elements with practical language learning tasks. Branching Storylines: Created multiple choices and possible relationship routes to pursue. User-Friendly Learning: Developed an intuitive, immersive way to learn vocabulary and grammar through gameplay.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 📚 We learned how to actually create a visual-novel like game. We learned a little more about languages and how to create games. We learned that A compelling narrative significantly enhances player immersion and language retention. Future Potential: The concept of combining AI with gaming opens possibilities for deeper learning experiences. We learned how to work in a team.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗮𝘀𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿 🚀 Advanced Language Learning Tools: Implement AI chatbots to simulate real conversations with game characters, enhancing speech practice. Expanded Storylines: Introduce more endings, side quests, and cultural elements to enrich the experience. Community Engagement: Plan multiplayer modes and community-driven content, such as user-generated scenarios or character designs.
