Inspiration

The inspiration behind Harvest Hub is to make gardening easy and accessible for everyone, while also promoting environmental sustainability. By encouraging people to grow their own plants, the app helps reduce carbon footprints, supports local biodiversity, and improves air quality. Harvest Hub aims to empower individuals to create green spaces that benefit both their well-being and the health of the planet.

What it does

Harvest Hub is a simple and straightforward web app that suggests a variety of plants suitable for your home or garden. Without the need for personalized inputs, it offers general recommendations for popular and easy-to-grow plants, making it an accessible tool for anyone looking to start or expand their green space.

I was responsible for designing and developing the backend of the web application using Express.js. I also converted the frontend webpages to use Handlebars, which helped in streamlining the dynamic content rendering. Additionally, I created and connected the web app to a MongoDB database and successfully loaded it with the required information tables, ensuring seamless integration and data management for the application.

I was responsible for the design and coding of the frontend for our project. I started by creating the layout in Figma, ensuring a user-friendly and visually appealing interface. Once the design was finalized, I implemented it using HTML and CSS with Bootstrap.
