Harry Potter's Magic Clock

Inspiration

We are both amazed by the Weasley Clock in the Harry Potter Movie Series and think it would be cool to have such stuff in real life. For many people like us who are studying away from home, we want to maintain a close connection with our families. By knowing their most updated positions and status, we can know what they are doing and when is a good time to contact them.

Abstract

Amazed by the Weasley Clock in Harry Potter? We are going to reproduce it using modern technology! Each hand on the clock would represent one family member, pointing to his/her current state whether at work/at home/ on the way home/ in the gym/ lost etc. The family members will use a mobile app and register some of the states that they might be in. Their states will then be updated automatically using GPS wherever they go. If their positions are not updated for more than several days, their status will be shown as lost. The update will then be sent to the clock timely by wifi so that the clock could display the information both accurately and aesthetically.
