About the Project
Harmonic Bytes is designed to enhance the visibility and engagement of musicians on TikTok by providing a data-driven content strategy. The project leverages AI to generate an 8-week content plan tailored to the artist's audience and trends, with the goal of increasing discoverability and maximizing engagement on the platform.
Inspiration
Our journey began with a heartfelt motivation rooted in the experiences of our friends and TikTok small artists who were passionate about creating music. Despite their talent and dedication, they struggle to find a wider audience. They publish their music on platforms like SoundCloud, Spotify, and Apple Music, but their only listeners are family and friends. This lack of traction is often due to the high costs associated with big marketing campaigns, publicity, bringing in popular artists as features and sometimes just not enough knowledge on how to reach more audience to get their song to go viral. We wanted to change this and help our friends, and artists like them, gain the popularity they deserve.
Moreover, we also noticed a troubling trend on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram. Many artists experience a brief surge of fame for a song or two, but their other creations often go unnoticed. Their quick rise to fame fades away in months as people move on to new trending songs, leaving these artists in the shadows. We aim to prevent this from happening by helping these artists build a sustainable fan base and reach the spotlight consistently.
What it does
Through this project, we gained profound insights into the struggles of content creators and artists. We learned that:
- Many passionate artists lack the proper guidance or strategy to reach a broader audience, which can cause their passion to fade without external support.
- TikTok provides a wealth of safe, useful data that can be leveraged to help these artists. AI can be a powerful tool in solving this problem, offering personalized and effective strategies to artists.
- Working as a team, we combined our ideas, divided tasks efficiently, and worked towards a common goal, learning the importance of teamwork and collaboration.
- We acquired new skills, explored various tools and APIs, and had an engaging and insightful experience throughout this journey.
How we built it
Our project is built on a robust tech stack, leveraging several cutting-edge technologies and tools. Here’s an overview:
- LlamaHub: We used this for phase 1 data management.
- LangChain: This tool enhanced our natural language processing capabilities.
- Google Colab: It served as our primary environment for code execution.
- Database: We created our own database of over 100+ users to store and manage our data efficiently.
- VertexAgent: It played a crucial role in analyzing user data and real-time trends, offering a knowledge base of viral strategies.
- Google Cloud: Provided the infrastructure for our cloud services, including CloudRun, Gemini, Data Prep, Data Flow, BigQuery, and GCS.
- Chatbot: Coded our own chatbot that facilitated interaction with artists, gathering their goals and content preferences to provide personalized strategies.
Challenges we ran into
Participating in a hackathon is always a thrilling yet challenging experience. Here are some of the challenges we faced:
- Time Management: With limited time to develop a fully functional solution, prioritizing tasks and managing our time efficiently was crucial.
- Technical Difficulties: Integrating multiple tools and technologies often led to unforeseen technical issues that required quick troubleshooting.
- Team Coordination: Ensuring smooth communication and coordination among team members, especially in a remote, high-pressure environment, was essential.
- Scalability: Building a solution that not only works efficiently now but can also scale as more users adopt it was a significant challenge.
- By overcoming these challenges, we not only grew as developers but also as a cohesive team, ready to tackle real-world problems with innovative solutions.
What's next for HarmonicBytes
As we move forward with Harmonic Bytes, our journey is far from over. Our immediate goal is to scale our solution, making it accessible to a broader range of artists globally. We are committed to continuously refining our AI tool, integrating more sophisticated data analytics, and enhancing the user experience. Our passion to support motivated and talented artists drives us to expand our reach and impact, ensuring that no artist with genuine talent and dedication is left behind. We envision a future where every aspiring artist can find their audience, share their art, and thrive in the music industry.
