Harmonic heaven

An online platform that enables residents to report safety events, receive real-time safety alerts, communicate with neighbors, and collaborate with local law enforcement

Inspiration: to develop a sense of togetherness among people of the community. Also seek help in situations of emergency such as theft etc.

What it does: It provides information about the events going on in the community. It also helps them to post problems and find solutions through discussions between members of community.

How we built it: We have used HTML, CSS and java script to develop the front end of our website. For back end, we’ve used MongoDB, node.js and express.js

Challenges we ran into: We faced little difficulty while trying to store images in the database. Also, when we write the complete back end code in a single file, the output is not as expected. So we had to use multiple files and this was a major challenge for us.

Accomplishments that we're proud of: We have successfully developed the front end of the website. We have also established a connection between the web pages and the database.

What we learned: We have strengthened our foundation in the concepts of HTML , CSS and java script. We have also learnt the basics of MongoDB.

What's next for Harmonic heaven : Here are some of the future scopes and enhancements for our website:

• Geographic Expansion: Currently, our website can focus on a specific neighborhood or community. We aim to expand it so that it can cover larger geographic areas, including entire cities. • Anonymous Reporting: Implement a feature for anonymous incident reporting, which can encourage individuals to report concerns without fear of reprisal, particularly in sensitive situations. • Multi-Lingual Support: Offer support for multiple languages to cater to diverse communities and ensure inclusivity.
