Inspiration
The inspiration was to incorporate simulation of Three.js ports with new technology like Jev AI.
What it does
HarborMind simulates port disruptions and recommends recovery plans to reduce delays and keep critical cargo moving.
How we built it
We built HarborMind with Next.js, React, and TypeScript, using Three.js for the interactive 3D harbor. We connected AISStream vessel tracking and Open-Meteo weather data, then built a simulator to test recovery strategies. Jev AI compares the simulated options and recommends plans that operators can review and adjust.
Challenges we ran into
The API data for certain elements like port capacity is difficult to find for free. The deadline was very big weight on our shoulders as we had other commitments during the weekend.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Proud of the UI of the website and how it incorporates tech that we wanted to learn. We are also proud of how efficient we used Jev AI.
What we learned
We learned how to better collaborate in a time crunch as this was both our first hackathon. Not too mention we learned about the technology stack that we used.
What's next for HarborMind
Possibly incorporating live data from port capacity, more accurate 3D models, and other ports.
