Inspiration
Walking through my home, I noticed how much useful stuff was just sitting idle — old books, lamps, furniture. Selling them felt like too much effort. I wanted to fix that.
What it does
Haraji is a mobile app that lets you sell unwanted household items in seconds. Just snap a photo, add a price, and list it. Buyers nearby can browse and purchase instantly.
How I built it
- Designed the UI/UX with simplicity in mind — minimal taps to list an item
- Built the frontend using React Native for cross-platform support
- Used Firebase for real-time database and user authentication
- Integrated image upload via cloud storage
Challenges I faced
The biggest challenge was making the listing flow feel effortless. Too many steps and users drop off. I iterated multiple times to get it down to three taps: snap, list, sell.
What I learned
Speed and simplicity are everything in consumer apps. The fewer decisions a user has to make, the better the experience.
