HappyNest is a web app for subletting rooms or apartments.

Inspiration One of our team members, Matt, was a transfer student to University of Pittsburgh who found it quite challenging to locate an apartment (he didn't). The various websites available are messy and filled with fluff; thus, we wanted to create a simpler, straight-forward user experience.

What We Learned We quickly realized designing an entire website in less than 24 hours was not exactly feasible. None of us had front-end experience, however, we discovered "Colorlib". We then found a template relevant to real estate and modified it to our needs. Additionally, creating a database from scratch using NoSQL (we know SQL, not NoSQL) within the same time frame was not feasible. Although, we managed to create a working E-R diagram and displayed relationships.

How We Built Our MVP Website: Wrote down initial website features -> Created a Google Slides -> Designed initial layout for each page (online + paper) -> Found a template -> Used dev tools to change CSS and HTML in real time -> Modified code to reflect our vision Database: Identified data names and definitions -> Designed E-R model with suggested relationships -> Started building a database using NoSQL
